Decent food (not worth the price), but terrible service and long wait times when the restaurant wasn't crowded. Seems like a place that is still getting it together in terms of how to be an operational business, but in the meantime expects you to premium pricing. For example on one visit we saw them buying ingredients from the bodega across the street for our meal... After we had placed an order. Surprised it's 4.5 stars honestly. Maybe it's just a food desert around here and there are no better options? Friendly people for what it's worth, and that does count for something (2 out of 5), but in terms of an experience eating out... better to just stay home.

This place is one of my favorite local spots. The people are so friendly. They are very welcoming. The food is AMAZING. Make sure you get the hot sausage and the Belgian waffles with the homemade hot butter banana rum topping. Soooo good. Gotta come check out Monday nights for live jazz and Thursday wine tasting!

ABSOLUTELY love this place. I've only gone several times for their waffles (only on weekends) but they've brought me back again and again. The banana rum topping melts in your mouth, the apple cinnamon topping is great, and their chocolate waffle is just the right amount of chocolate for breakfast (not too sweet or overwhelming). It was so good that my friend ordered another waffle! It's not a big place, but it's cozy and you can stay there for hours. The service is friendly, personalized, and warm. They are flexible and will try to work with you if you want something that's not on the menu (if they have the ingredients). Dinner and happy hour on the weekdays as well as a variety of events on different nights of the week. The space is also available for small parties or events so talk to the owners for info! Overall, a beautiful GEM on Flatbush Ave!

Apparently this is a breakfast spot, but we went here pretty late. So late in fact that the manager told us the kitchen was closing and that there wasn't much food left at first but let us in which was nice. The only option we had was the spiced salmon and it was easily the best salmon I've ever had. It was a decent size as well which was great. The salad had plenty in it including tomatoes, baby spinach, onion, squash(?) And my lesser likes okra and olives with an excellent tasting vinagarette dressing. The setting wad a bit dark, but there was an entertaining regular there singing songs on his guitar after having "a few". I wanted to try the jerk chicken (they were of it) but if it has the same amount effort as the salmon I'd be tempted to go back.

This is the definition of a hidden gem, & I can't wait to go back. I can kill it with a rum punch, and Delroy's gives mine a run for my money. I found all their food really good, and they were so attentive - remembering everyone, making sure they made it just right, never appearing to get annoyed with anyone. The vibe is very laid back, chill & easy going. It can be good for a group or a date, and I'm looking forward to giving both a shot. Go for it & support this place!

this was an awesome bday treat. the husband knows that i love waffles and this place mos def has a great selection. the hot buttered rum banana topping on a whole wheat waffle was so awesome and filling that i was afraid i wasnt going to finish it (just kidding...that would be a sin). the hot sausage on the side was not spicy but still delicious. my son isnt a fan of sandwiches but he devoured his sausage sandwich. service was fantastic in suggesting what beer to drink (BILLS). mos def going back

Love this venue. The owner is nice and I like that they have an extensive wine collection. The food is also good. Finally, impeccable service. My boyfriend was watching soccer highlights on his phone and they streamed it through the projector. Totally made his day. Bring on mas vino! I highly recommend this venue if you want to chill, enjoy wine and have conversation, read a book or be romantic. The owner did confirm brunch is available Saturday & Sunday starting at 11:00 AM and ending at 4:00 or 5:00.

I recently visited Delroy's the weekend and I loved it! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I had a waffle dressed in hot cinnamon and a few mimosas which were on the money. Will go again!!!

Our family stopped by here last week for takeout. We are a family of four-two of us are vegetarian- and we each found something delicious to eat. The vegetable soup was full of flavor and big chunks of fresh vegetables. The guacomcole was fresh and delicious. The veggie panini was the biggest hit and we had to tell the meat eaters who wanted to share it that they had to stick to the crab cakes which they scarfed down in seconds. A hidden gem!

Review of the dinner menu on Fridays. Table of 4, we pretty much owned the place. Once again lovely ambiance and great service from the owner and servers. We visited the wine shop next door, bought a wine which the owner chilled and served to us later. We shared many dishes including the fried hen, snow peas, baked salmon and lamb. Appetizers were also great. I loved the homemade nachos and guacamole. The baked salmon came with a wonderful mango cabbage. My favorite dish was the snow peas. Simple ingredient but well executed. Overall, service is awesome here. Really appreciated how the owner was willing to go out of his way to please his guests. Hoping to see more faces here.

Great small business that surprised my girlfriend and I while walking home from the dentist. Awesome service and real homey feel. The owner let us watch whatever we wanted on TV and the food came out quick and waffles n eggs were delicious! A unique hip place for sure!

Cool place off right off Flatbush. On the smaller side, but we were lucky to get a spot right away -- doesn't seem like it gets terribly crowded. The waffles are awesome as is the French press coffee and bacon. Didn't try the wine but seemed like a cool spot to have a glass of wine, too. Everyone was also really nice and it's neat that it has Jamaican influences, as well!

Nice inimate space, quaint and cozy right off of Flatbush. Totally unexpected, I'm glad I was invited here bc I don't think I would have ever seen it otherwise. The staff alone make it worth it. Will go above and beyond to please the customer and are very down to earth, make you feel like you're in a friends living room. The food was good but I can't remember if anything was memorable I was all about the WINE WINE WINE.

Five stars for the incredibly personable and kind service. The food wasn't anything extravagant but it was spot on for a lazy Saturday afternoon brunch: light, perfectly cooked waffles topped with fresh fruit, fluffy scrambled eggs with avocado and tomato and some hardy, healthy turkey sausage to go with it.. They plated everything beautifully, the music was stellar and it was overall a great experience. My only critique is that the mimosa I ordered came out after we were nearly finished with our food but honestly the rest of the service was so fantastic I really didn't mind. I'll definitely be making a habit of going to this little gem.

PLEASE support this place!!! It is too good to be as empty as I always see when I go in. The place is small and quaint with only about ten seats. The servers are great, and they are willing to do anything to keep the customer happy. We asked a glass of wine from a bottle they weren't serving. The froze it up, and gave us glasses from the wine shop. The owner tries to know everybody by name, and it feels like going to a family member's house Iv been here three times, twice for brunch and one for dinner Brunch: - Coffee is awesome - nutella on regular waffle is awesome - banana foster waffle is awesome - Nothing about the experience is not awesome Dinner: - this gives new meaning to the phrase home cooked - this is the kind of food you can bring home, act like you made it, and ur gusests could not tell the difference - our party had one of each of the four dishes (fried hen, snow peas, salmon, lamb) - the cabbage that comes with the salmon is out of this world - I enjoyed the snow peas the best - the lamb was kind of small, with only two pieces served - they let us mix and match side dishes - the guacamole app and the fried chicken wing app, were simply amazing - The chocolate cream wine is the ish

I love this wine bar. The staff is super friendly and the vibe is cool and relaxing. There is always good music playing and tasty food to nibble on. They have a small but thoughtful wine selection that is a good value. If this was in my hood I would be a regular.

This was my second time at delroy's and it is really a great neighborhood spot. They've remodeled since the last time I was there, and my friend and I had a really nice lunch in their lounge area. We had a delicious jerk chicken salad. They also have a nice wine shop Just one store front over. The staff were very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place!

For service and attentiveness I would give this place 4 stars! The owner was tremendously attentive and nice...at end of dinner he went outside and purchased my party pastries! Don't get any better then that! Ambiance: A small gem on an unassuming street in the slowly gentrifying section of Flatbush/prospect heights. You can easily miss it of your not paying attention. Right next to their wine store which is a major plus. The place was nice and quite and very clean with romantic lighting. Perfect little spot for a date or enjoying some good wine with couple of friends. Very comfortable elegant place. Service: As I said the owner went outside and got us pastries! Very attentive and cordial. Made us feel at ease...even the chef came out for a convo with us. Everything arrived in good order. Food: Had some really nice guac that was pretty good. One had goat cheese in it and let's say we devoured all three orders of that. My gripe comes with my order which was turkey meatballs with pasta in a marinara sauce. Loved the meatballs... Flavorful and well cooked. The pasta on the other hand...was not Al dente...and that marinara just lacked any pizazz and was not flavorful at all. Pasta was overlooked and the sauce pasta balance was off...favoring the pasta side. I did not finish the pasta. My friend had the mussels which she raved about. The menu changes on the weekends...I hope they stick more to there carribean inspired fare more. The wine: great choices! Def will be back to sample more of the list. We did mostly reisling..and enjoyed several bottles. Overall a good experience...the service made all the difference.

I stopped in for breakfast with my boyfriend last Saturday morning during our first time in Lefferts Gardens and Delroy's made quiet the first impression! The place is super small and intimate and the table decor was really cute. It has a really quiet and relaxed atmosphere so it was the perfect setting for conversation. I ordered the belgium waffle with apple cinnamon and it looked and tasted amazing! My boyfriend loved his meal too. Waynie was super friendly and attentive and in my opinion really made the experience. We'll definitely be going back!!

This place is a hidden gem. We just moved into the neighborhood and wandered by on our way to the wine store. What a great surprise! We got whole wheat waffles with bananas foster, and one with bananas and almond butter. My husband doesn't normally like waffles, but these are light and airy (and very whole wheat, so you don't feel gross afterwards). We are actually still at the restaurant, but I had to post immediately - it's that good.

OMG Amazing Waffles! I got the Belgium with Nutella and the Bananas with Syrup on the side. NOM. Also had a side of delish Turkey Bacon, only $2! Great Prices and the ambiance is trendy cute. Great place to go with friends, family, or on a date. Will be returning next time I'm near Prospect Park!

This restaurant is amazing and truly one of a kind. I went in with my boyfriend on a very cold day for brunch and we were welcomed in and instantly warmed not only by the staff but by the wonderful smell of waffles. The setting is very cozy and delightful. As another review mentioned, it truly feels like going to a close family member or friend's place. The food was incredible. So far I have only been for brunch and both the regular waffle with nutella and the chocolate waffle with warm apple cinnamon with delicious warm apples on top were both incredible. I will definitely be back for dinner as soon as possible. I have been looking for a great restaurant in the area for a while and this is a wonderfully affordable place with a delightful atmosphere and unbeatable food. I definitely recommend this place and know I will be returning often.

The other day I overheard someone saying they wished there was restaurant in the neighborhood where they could go for wine, music, and a nice dinner. That place already exists--it's Delroy's. They seem to do a good weekend brunch business, but for some reason don't get as much of a crowd for dinner. I'm not sure why, because the owner is super friendly and the ambiance is nice. The menu is not huge, but try the olive-lemon fettuccine. It's a large portion and a great balance of flavors.

Had an amazing dinner here on a weekday evening. Though the weekend entrees were not available, the provided courses were amazing! VERY friendly staff & a chill environment. Of note, I would HIGHLY recommend the jerk chicken pot stickers as well as the meatballs. Nice selection of wines. Look forward to going back to experience a full-on meal!

I live on the same block as Delroy's but never checked it out. I was hanging with a girlfriend and we decided to check it out. I am very happy I did. They have the best panini's I've ever had. I had a turkey panini. They come with a side salad which is great. We each got a glass of complimentary red wine. I am definitely going back soon. They have added a brunch menu, I am excited to try it out. After I finished dinner, I went next door to 65 Fen and purchased two bottles of wine. It's a little place, but a nice place. If you are ever in the neighborhood, check it out, I know you would be glad you did.

This place has been open for about a month, and I finally got a chance to check it out today for lunch. They have a pretty small menu of sandwiches and soup. I ordered a panini with fontina cheese, spinach, and tomato on focaccia which was very good and came with a side salad. I chatted a bit with the owner (I think), who was super nice and gave me a free bowl of soup - potato bean, yum - to try while my panini was cooking. I didn't get dessert, but they had a warm brownie with strawberries. They don't serve alcohol, but you can buy wine from the shop next door, which is run by the same people. Seems like this might also be a nice spot to stop by for a glass after work. It's certainly nothing fancy, but this is a cute and friendly little cafe, with simple, fresh, tasty food. Great addition to the neighborhood!

I stopped at Deloy's for a bite, ordered a bottle of white from next door (65 Fen) and chatted with the owner until my hubby joined me. They always make you feel welcome here. The menu is small but they have perfected the few offered items. We've had the paninis before and are always pleased with fresh ingredients used and how well the flavors compliment each other. But last night I opted for the small cheese plate (which was good) and the poached pear with prosciutto salad. The salad was spectacular! The perfect blend of savory and sweet on a bed of earthy greens with a hint of creaminess from the cheese created a fete in my mouth. Hubby ordered the dessert of the day, chocolate mousse. Now, mousse had never been one of my favorite desserts BUT this mousse was delicious, not to airy or sweet and the acidity of strawberry that topped it cut through the richness of the chocolate perfectly. I rarely yelp but I had to this time. Delighted to have Delroy's in my neighborhood!

This place is great! The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious. It took a long time to come out (which we deduced was a fluke, based on the way the waitress and owner/manager kept apologizing to us), but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal at all. And then we were brought a complimentary cheese/fruit plate, which was great! And who doesn't love BYOB?

    (4)
  • Stephanie C.

Delroy's is a great neighborhood spot. It serves mostly panini, but just revised the menu to add brunch options, crepes and a wider array of salads along with coffee, tea and some high-end sodas. The ingredients are fresh, the paninis are really good, the service is friendly, and it's a relaxing place to spend time. They're waiting on their liquor license, at which point it'll be a lovely neighborhood wine bar; for now, it's BYOB, which is easy enough when the terrific 65 Fen (owned by the same guy) is next door.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again.
